Mrs. Myrtle L. Woodell, 84, of 506 Russell Street, Pembroke was born on April 3, 1927 and departed this life on November 17, 2011. Mrs. Woodell was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. John Bunyon and Downy Chavis Locklear; husband, Mr. Braddy B. Woodell; husband, Mr. Cliff Lowry, Jr.; daughter, Mrs. Paulette L. Love; son, Mr. Roger Dale Lowry; brothers, Mr. Woodrow Locklear and Mr. Ertle Locklear; sister, Mrs. Eva Mae Locklear; and granddaughter, Mrs. Cynthia Hunt Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2011, at Pembroke Gospel Chapel with Bro. Purcell Blue officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Woodell is survived by six daughters: Mrs. Coleen Brooks (Jeff) of Pembroke, Mrs. Jennifer Stubbs (Jerry) of Lumberton, Dr. Zoe Locklear (Thomas), Ms. Lisa Chavis, Mrs. Florita Lowry (Dennis), and Mrs. Miranda Barton (Ricky) all of Pembroke; one step-son: Mr. James Ray Hunt (Elizabeth) of Lumberton; twenty grandchildren: Emily, Allison, Sonya, Stephanie, Randal, Matthew, Elizabeth, Branson, Jordan, Madison, Reagan, Brandi, Bailey, Joel, Jeremy, Ernie, Brantley, Jacob, Linda, and James (Bud); seventeen great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Mrs. Gertrude Dial and Mrs. Mabel Barnes both of Pembroke. Mrs. Woodell is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home. Viewing will be one hour prior to services at the church. |
