Mr. Wilbur Eugene “Gene” Paulk, 76, of 1027 Lonnie Farm Road, was born August 13, 1932 and died, Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Wilbur Wilcox & Mrs. Carrie Elizabeth Paulk and two grandchildren: Travis Alexander Lippard and Ashley Elizabeth Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2009, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife: Mrs. Nellie F. Paulk of the home; a son: Mr. Karl Lynn Paulk and his wife: Mrs. Joanne; two daughters: Mrs. Roxanne Paulk Lippard and her husband: Mr. Tracy and Mrs. Karen Janice Paulk Locklear and her husband: Dr. Curt all of Pembroke; a sister: Mrs. Jessie Mae Showalter and her husband: Mr. Melvin of Fayetteville; six grandchildren: Heath Alan Lippard, Karl Lynn Paulk, Jr., Sarah Leanne Locklear, Patrick Eugene Paulk, Lydia Kirtrice Locklear and Jazma Lynn Paulk and a great-grandchild: Nikolaos Alan Lippard.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
