Mr. William Robert “Dr. Bob” White, 77, of 1419 NC Hwy 710 South, was born August 14, 1931 and died, Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at Regency Hospital in Florence, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Mr. Rufus “Doc” & Mrs. Susan White.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 24, 2009, at Bakers Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs: Lindbergh Chavis and Johnny Dunson officiating. Burial will follow in the Bakers Chapel Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years: Mrs. Annie Liz White of the home; two sons: Mr. Joseph Michael White of the home and Johnny Ray White of Lancaster, SC; a daughter: Ms. Shelby Gene Heart of Polkton, NC; a step-son: Mr. Mark Strickland of Rowland; four beautiful grandchildren: Sierra, Marcus, Cody & Steven Strickland all of Rowland; three sisters: Mrs. Norma Bigham of Kannapolis, NC, Ms. Peggy White of Monroe, NC and Mrs. Joyce Antonis of Pittsburgh, PA; a host of brothers and sisters-in-law; four special friends: Ms. Kathy Sweat, Mr. Joe Barber both of Lumberton, Mr. Bill Norton of Laurinburg and Bishop Johnny Dunson of Rowland and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 23, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
