Obituaries

Mr. Milas Anthony Wedmer                                                 Maxton      Mr. Milas Anthony Wedmer, 68, of 191 Snoopy Road, was born May 29, 1942 and died Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Carolina’s Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.  He was the son of the late Mr. Harrison Anthony Wedmer and Ms. Billie Mae Brooks.      The funeral will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010, at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Fredrick Locklear officiating.  Burial will follow in the White Hill Church Cemetery.      Mr. Wedmer leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 33 years: Mrs. Cora Lee Dates Wedmer, whom he married on July 2, 1977; his step-parents: Mr. Howard & Mrs. Virginia Brooks of Maxton; a son: Mr. Robert A. Wedmer of Washington, DC; two daughters:  Mrs. Rhonda Mintac and husband Mr. Manny and Mrs. Anntoinette Bunji and husband Mr. Donald; two step-children:  Mr. Bobby Dates and wife Mrs. Faye and Mrs. Sandra Smith and husband Mr. Lorenzo; two sisters:  Mrs. Jewel Scott and husband Mr. Willie of Lumberton, NC and Ms. Hollie Word of Detroit, MI; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.      The family will receive friends Saturday, August 7, 2010, from 12-1 p.m. at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
