Mr. George Michael Wainwright, 49, of 148 Wainwright Dr., Pembroke, NC, departed this life on Saturday October 6, 2007 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church located off Hwy 74 in Maxton, NC. The Reverends Jerry Locklear and Tim Chavis will be officiating. Burial will follow immediately in the White Hill Freewill Baptist Church cemetery.
Mr. Wainwright leaves behind to cherish his memory; Mrs. Carol Locklear Wainwright, his wife of 28 years; two daughters: Ms. Courtney Rena Wainwright of the home, Mrs. Chisa Wainwright-Locklear and son-in-law Matthew Locklear of Pembroke; One grand-daughter Chaylee Wainwright of the home and a brother-in-law Mr. Ryan Locklear also of the home; his father and mother: Mr. Earl & Mrs. Magdalene Gore of Pembroke; four sisters Mrs. Jean Jacobs of Pembroke, Mrs. Ethel Rena Locklear of Prospect, Mrs. Sharon Hunt of Pembroke, and Mrs. Cynthia Phillips of Maxton, NC; and a host of other family members and friends.
Mr. Wainwright also leaves a much larger family to cherish his memory consisting of an entire community and the Pembroke Rural Fire Department where he diligently served his community for over 23 years during which time he had the honor to touch hundreds of lives.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 9, 2007 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Locklear and Son Funeral Home in Pembroke.
