Mrs. Ruthie Jane Strickland, 94, of 1294 Harpers Ferry Road, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at her home surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. & Mrs. James P. Locklear; six sisters; five brothers; two sons: Mr. Truman Strickland and Mr. Timothy Strickland, Jr. and a granddaughter: Miss Tina Strickland.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 2011, at New Prospect Holiness Methodist Church with the Revs: Perry Roberts, Willie Scott and Bro. Eugene Bryant officiating. Burial will follow in the New Prospect Church Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband: Mr. Timothy Strickland of the home; four sons: Mr. Verlin Strickland of Midland, Mr. Donald Strickland(Carolyn), Mr. Ronald Strickland(Sandra) both of Maxton and Mr. Gerald Strickland(Brenda) of Pembroke; four daughters: Mrs. Sue Ann Maynor(Rabon), Mrs. Linda Tyler(Chester), Mrs. Marie Moore(Fredrick) all of Maxton and Mrs. Janice Grady(Stan) of High Point; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at New Prospect Holiness Methodist Church. |
