Mr. Roy Strickland, 50, of 4375 West Dew Road, was born March 27, 1957 and died, Tuesday, May 29, 2007 in Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by his father: Arnold Strickland and his paternal grandparents: Mr. & Mrs. Wilson Strickland, Sr.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Steve Strickland, Ronald Scott, Clifford Locklear and Bobby Dean Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife: Cynthia Strickland of the home; a son: Patrick Tyler Strickland; two daughters: Brittany Nichole Strickland and Tori Noel Strickland all of the home; his mother: Myrtle Strickland Locklear; his step-father: James L. Locklear both of Red Springs; his brother: Larry Delson Strickland and his wife: Bernita of Maxton; two sisters: Anita S. Lowry and her husband: Terrill of Pembroke and Karen S. Jones and her husband: Terry of Lumberton; a step-sister: Gwen Almodovar and her husband: Ralph of El Paso, Texas; a step-brother: Robert Locklear of Raleigh and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 2, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
