Mr. Prather “Cracker” Strickland, Jr., 62, of 395 Cabinet Shop Road, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 12, 1945 to the late Mr. Prather & Mrs. Ruthie Jane Oxendine Strickland and her was the grandson of the late Mr. Britton & Mrs. Sallie Oxendine and Mr. & Mrs. Fred Strickland.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007, at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Strickland and Bro. George Dial officiating. Burial will follow in the Harpers Ferry Church Cemetery.
Surviving are a son: Neil Hammonds and his wife: Brenda of Rowland; a brother: Bobby Ray Strickland of Charlotte; a sister: Nancy Kay Strickland Locklear and her husband: Tyrone Locklear of Maxton and Mr. & Mrs. George Dial of Rowland; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, July 12, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
