Lumberton
Rev. Jimmie Lee Scott, 56, of 4631 Pine Log Road, was born August 8, 1954 to the late Mr. Jimmie & Mrs. Dora Bell Scott and departed this life on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was also preceded in death by a son: Mr. Jimmie D. Scott.
Rev. Scott touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with. He and his wife opened their home to several foster children. He loved old cars and spending time with his grandchildren and wife, but most of all he loved the Lord.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011, at Mt. Haven Alliance Church with the Revs: Billy Burns and Gerald Smith and Bishop C. Norton officiating. Burial will follow in the Bullard Family Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife: Mrs. Marline J. Scott of the home; four sons: Mr. Jamie Scott, Mr. Chris Scott both of Fairmont, Mr. Mark Stewart of Lumberton and Mr. Josh Oxendine of Sanford; two daughters: Ms. Selena S. Sanderson of Fairmont and Ms. Stephanie Stewart of Lumberton; two brothers: Mr. Roger Scott and Mr. Randolph Scott both of Fairmont; eight sisters: Ms. Annie Ruth Hunt, Ms. Annie Bell Hunt, Ms. Sara Locklear, Ms. Louise Scott, Ms Anice Scott all of Lumberton, Ms. Letha Scott, Ms. Barbara Hunt both of Fairmont and Ms. Linda Scott Covington of Chadbourn; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 19, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home. |
