Mr. James Robert “Gabbie” Sanderson, 69, of 2448 Hwy 710 South, was born December 22, 1938 and died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jonah & Stella Sanderson; two brothers: Ira Sanderson and R.D. Sanderson and two sisters: Cora S. Maynor and Virgie S. Deese.
The funeral will be conducted 4 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs: Jimmy Strickland and Bernard Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Sanderson Family Cemetery.
Surviving are two sons: Blake O. Sanderson of the home and Aaron Revels of Pembroke; two grandchildren: Maliki and Serenity Faith Sanderson; a brother: Burlin & wife: Pat Sanderson of Rowland; six nieces: Lillian Brewington, Peggy Strickland, Valarie Deese, Amanda McNeill all of Rowland, Evelyn Hampton of Germanton, NC and Becky Oldham of Red Springs; six nephews: Haynes Deese, Dennis Sanderson, Joe Sanderson, Eric Sanderson, Ronnie Dean Sanderson all of Rowland and Harry Deese of Chocowinity, NC; two special friends: Marshall Tyner and David Earl Tyner and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 14, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
