Pembroke Mr. Aubrey Sampson, Jr., of 450 Tracy Sampson Road, Pembroke was born on April 13, 1968 to Mr. Aubrey and Mrs. Anna Sampson. On Wednesday, November 17 at 2:55 p.m. as the sun broke through a cloudy Carolina blue sky, Aubrey made his heavenly departure completing his earthly journey of 43 years. During his altogether brief time on earth, Aubrey had a profound impact, touching the lives of many friends, co-workers at Flour Daniel and countless local youth. Also known as “Coach Aubrey”, he was active in the Deep Branch community as a founding member of the West Robeson Baseball Association and integral in starting the Deep Branch Athletic Booster Club. Aubrey Sampson, Jr. will always be remembered as a son, brother, father and friend who deeply touched everyone in his life. The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Steve Strickland, Jimmy Hammonds and James Graham officiating. Burial will follow in the Sampson Family Cemetery. Mr. Sampson is survived by two dearly beloved sons: Master Aaron Thorne Sampson and Master Adam Jacob Sampson; a beloved daughter: Miss Taryn Brittany Strickland; his parents: Mr. Aubrey & Mrs. Anna Sampson; two sisters: Mrs. Debra Sampson Locklear (Trent) and Mrs. Joanna Cummings (Mark); a very special cousin, always considered a brother: Mr. Eric Locklear and his treasured love: Ms. Querida W. Hunt; four nieces, three nephews, one grandchild and many cherished cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church. |
