Mr. Phillip Oxendine, 63, of 209 Ruth Dial St. Apt. 35, Pembroke, was born into this life on December 27, 1948 and departed this life Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Mr. George Pate and Mrs. Annie Pearl Oxendine.
Mr. Oxendine was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. George Pate and Mrs. Annie Pearl Oxendine, great-grandchild: Miss Karyn Paige Oxendine.
Mr. Oxendine enjoyed being with family and friends. One of his favorite things to do was ride his Harley. One of his many quotes to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were “It’s tough being a kid.”
The funeral will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs: Jimmy Strickland and Bobby D. Locklear officiating. Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Oxendine is survived by one son and three daughters of his marriage to Mrs. Katherine Oxendine, Mr. Bobby Lynn Oxendine of Missouri; Ms. Tammy Lynn Oxendine, Mrs. Christine Oxendine and husband Kelvin all of Pembroke and Mrs. Chasitie Ann Raby and husband Tony Sr. of Rennert; he is also survived by Darlene Pollard and their two sons: Mr. Harley D. Oxendine Riddle, Mr. Shawn Riddle and wife Julie Atkinson, and one daughter: Donna Lynn Oxendine Riddle all of Birmingham, AL; five brothers: Mr. Larry E. Oxendine, Rev. Anthony (Tony) Oxendine and wife Beulah, Mr. Randy Oxendine and Mr. George P. Oxendine Jr. and wife Linda all of Pembroke; one sister: Mrs. Joanne O. Ramey and husband Dan of Knoxville, TN; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2012, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
