Mr. John Russell “Man” Oxendine, age 67, of 654 Old Baker Road, Maxton was born April 12, 1939 and departed this life on, Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by an infant son: Master Jeffery Lee Oxendine; his mother: Ms. Rosie Jane Oxendine and a sister: Ms. Alice Faye Oxendine Butler.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007 at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs: Jerry Locklear, Jimmy Strickland and Martin Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the White Hill Church Cemetery.
Mr. Oxendine is survived by his wife of 46 years: Mrs. Moddie M. Oxendine of the home; five sons: Mr. Berlin R. Brooks Oxendine, Mr. Russell Oxendine, Mr. Jody Leon Oxendine, Mr. Roy Lee Oxendine and Mr. John Keith Oxendine all of Maxton; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 10, 2007, after 5 p.m. at his home.
