Lumberton Ms. Quessie Maynor, 88, of 1072 Odum Road, was born December 13, 1921 and died, Saturday, April 10, 2010 at 228 Macie Road, Pembroke, the home of her daughter. She was a member of Burnt Swamp Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. James Harvey “Buddy” & Mrs. Pencie Locklear Maynor; her grandparents: Mr. Joseph & Mrs. Laura Allen Locklear; three sisters: Ms. Mable Taylor, Ms. Laura Mae Taylor and Ms. Regina Hunt; seven brothers: Mr. Belton Maynor, Mr. Bonford Maynor, Mr. Willard Maynor, Mr. Millard Maynor, Mr. Jordan Maynor, Mr. Delton Maynor and Mr. Sonny “Boy” Maynor and her uncle & aunt: Mr. & Mrs. Foncie Locklear. The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Burnt Swamp Baptist Church with the Revs: Keith Long, Doug Campbell and Buck Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in the Burnt Swamp Church Cemetery. Surviving are a daughter: Mrs. Paula Oxendine and husband: Mr. Gerald; their children: Mr. Charlie Oxendine and wife: Mrs. Crystal and their children: Tyler and Austin; Mr. Derrick Oxendine and his son: Landon all of Pembroke; and Ms. Laura Kay Oxendine of Raleigh; Ms. Lona Locklear and her children: Mrs. Shelia Smith and husband: Mr. Chris and their children: Beth, Sara and Manuel all of Lumberton; Mrs. Renee Levinson and husband: Mr. Michael and their children: Brittany and Michael, Jr.; Mr. Daryl Chavis and wife: Mrs. Gloria and their children: Ashlee, Jessica all of Lumberton and Jason Cardwell of US Navy; Mr. Brian Chavis and wife: Mrs. Michelle and their son: Bryron all of Lumberton; five sisters: Mrs. Eunice Chavis and family of Lumberton, Mrs. Nellie Ransom and family of Lumberton, Mrs. Betty Lou Maynor and family of Rowland, Mrs. Lyne Paul and family of Pembroke, Mrs. Retha Bryant and family of Kinston and a host of relatives and friends, much gratitude is extended to a very special nurse of five years: Mrs. Mary Ann Locklear Eddings and to HealthKeeperz’s Hospice Staff. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 13, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home. | |
