Mr. Make Maynor, 94, of 153 Charlotte Road, was born January 10, 1917 to the late Mr. Make & Mrs. Annie Nora Jacobs Maynor and departed this life on Thursday, March 30, 2011 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years: Mrs. Martha Maynor; six brothers: Mr. Burt Maynor, Mr. Prather Maynor, Mr. Lewis Locklear, Mr. Jimmie Maynor, Mr. Billy Maynor and Mr. Delaway Lowery; four sisters: Mrs. Winnie Jones, Mrs. Eva Tucker, Mrs. Ester R. Oxendine and Mrs. Polly McNeil.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, at New Philadelphus United Methodist Church with the Revs: George Locklear and Carolyn Woriax officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Anna Church Cemetery.
Surviving are three sons: Mr. Carl Maynor and his wife: Mrs. Barbara of Norfolk, VA, Mr. Harvey Maynor and Mr. Frankie Maynor both of Red Springs; a daughter: Mrs. Martha Ann Locklear and her husband: Mr. Sonny of Red Springs; a sister: Ms. Locia Locklear of California; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 2, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home. |
