Obituaries

Mr. Charles Cameron “Lynn” Maynor                                       Pembroke      Mr. Charles C. Maynor, 62, was born September 21, 1947 and died Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.  He was preceded in death by his father: Rev. Charles Wesley Maynor.      The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church with the Revs:  Willie Scott and Carlton Oxendine officiating.  Burial will follow in the Maynor Family Cemetery.      Left to have loving memories are his mother:  Mrs. Arpie C. Maynor; four sisters:  Mrs. Edith Taylor and husband Bob, Mrs. Gloria Maynor, Mrs. Eunila Hunt, and Mrs. Bonnie Oxendine; a brother:  Mr. Charles Alton Maynor and wife Shelia and many nieces and nephews.      Lynn as he was affectionately known by friends was a veteran of the US Army.  He attained the rank of E-5.  He took a great deal of pride in his membership in the Lumbee Tribe and the Lumbee Warriors Association.      Lynn enjoyed church, taking care of his elderly mother and spending time with relatives and friends.  He will be greatly missed by all of us who loved him.      The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May, 25, 2010 at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church.
