Mr. Charlie Lowry, 76, of Lumberton, was born May 28, 1931 and died Friday, March 28, 2008, at Regency Hospital of Florence, SC after an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Neal Archie, Jr. and Mrs. Rhodie Lowry and a son: Mr. Angelo Lowry.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Chapel Holiness Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Scott and Dr. Martin Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowry Family Cemetery.
Mr. Lowry leaves to cherish his memories: three sons: Mr. Melton Lowry of Pembroke, Mr. Gregory Lowry and his wife: Mrs. Delores of Lumberton and Mr. Villie Lowry of Durham; two daughters: Ms. Sandrah L. Hunt of Bunnlevel, NC and Mrs. Cynthia Lowry Chavis and her husband: Mr. Thomas Mark of Las Vegas, NV; a brother: Mr. Lacy Lowery of San Antonio, Texas; the mother of his children: Mrs. Verona L. Jackson of Lumberton, who has remained friends throughout the years, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 1, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
