Mrs. Ruby Carter Lowery, 75, of 2629 Huggins Road, Lumberton was born December 15, 1935 and died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Mr. Horace E. Lowery; her parents: Mr. Oscar & Mrs. Isabel Carter; a daughter: Ms. Fredia Faye Lowery and two brothers: Mr. Alvie Roscoe Carter and Mr. Frank “Mickey” Carter.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Burnt Swamp Baptist Church with the Revs: Tommy Gist and Kelvin Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Burnt Swamp Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Lowery is survived by a son: Mr. Harry Carter of Lumberton; four daughters: Ms. Marty Kaye Lowery, Ms. Leta Lowery and Ms. Sandy Lowery all of Lumberton and Mrs. Myrna Gist of Pembroke; a sister: Mrs. Betty Jo Kiker of Charlotte; six grandchildren: Mr. Van Eugene Cummings, Mr. James Aaron Cummings, Ms. Gina Lakay Cummings, Ms. Jeri Nichole Locklear, Ms. Leigh Ann Locklear and Mr. Jordan Fuller Locklear; eight grandchildren: Fredia Madison Cummings, Matthew Eugene Cummings, Seth Alexander Cummings, Kennedy Faye Bird, Kensleigh Ruby-Dale Bird, Genna Lakay Bird, Landrie Isabel Locklear and Jayanna Caroline Jacobs and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home. |
