Obituaries

Mr. Zelbert Locklear                                         Maxton      Mr. Zelbert Locklear, 56, of12829 US 74 West, Maxton, was born November 6, 1953 and passed on to his eternal home on Friday, July 16, 2010.  He was the son of the late Mr. Daniel Locklear and Mrs. Georgeanna Locklear.  He is also preceded in death by a grandson:  Mr. Stephen Daniel Revels.      He loved riding horses and buggies and was a former employee of the House of Raeford in Maxton.      The funeral will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at First Assembly of God with the Revs:  Clyde Haywood, James Otten and Alan Locklear officiating.  Burial will follow in the Preston Cemetery.      Mr. Locklear leaves behind two sons:  Mr. Kevin Revels of Charlotte and Mr. Zelbert Locklear, Jr. of Maxton; two daughters:  Mrs. Linda Reed Revels and Ms. Jessica Marie Revels both of Maxton; four grandchildren:  Miss Tierra Locklear, Master Charles Locklear, Master Kevin Revels, and Miss Navaeh Revels; twelve brothers and sisters:  Mrs. Bulah Milligan of Laurinburg, Mrs. Sarah Henderson of Pembroke, Mr. Mundy Locklear and husband Mr. Elbert of Lumberton, Mrs. Mary Ann Eddings and husband  Mr. Don of Lumberton, Ms. Dymaris Ann Locklear of Maxton, Mr. Sky Locklear and wife Mrs. Karen Sue Locklear of Lumberton, Mr. Star Locklear of Maxton, Mr. Randall Locklear of Maxton, Mr. Pressley Locklear, Mr. Don Locklear, Mr. Tony Locklear and wife Mrs. Pearl Locklear all of McColl, SC and Mr. Dixon Locklear of Pembroke; a special friend:  Ms. Adell Locklear of Maxton and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.      The family will receive friends Monday, July 19, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
