Mr. Woodrow Locklear, 64, of 380 Sylvia Lane, Rowland was born October 14, 1944 and departed this life on Friday, January 23, 2009, at his home. He was preceded in death by his father: Mr. Russell Locklear; his mother: Mrs. Lucy Mae Locklear and a brother: Mr. Monroe Locklear. Mr. Locklear was a retired fireman from Raynham Fire Department and a retired farmer.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2009, at Elrod Baptist Church with the Revs: Gary Chavis, Robert Locklear and Brian Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in the Elrod Church Cemetery.
Mr. Locklear is survived by his loving wife: Mrs. Sylvia Locklear of the home; two sons: Mr. Tony Locklear and Mr. Daniel Locklear both of Rowland; three daughters: Ms. Nora Locklear, Ms. Katina Locklear both of Rowland and Ms. Mattie Jane Jacobs of Maryland; four brothers: Mr. Jessie Locklear, Mr. Cranston Locklear, Mr. Wallace Locklear and Mr. Andrew Locklear all of Rowland; four sisters: Mrs. Sabra Chavis of Pembroke, Ms. M.J. Locklear, Ms. Lois Locklear both of Rowland and Ms. Barbara Locklear of Lumberton; eleven grandchildren: Mr. Tony Lee Locklear, Mr. Walter Woodrow Locklear, Mr. Joseph Locklear and Mr. Travis Oxendine all of Maxton, Ms. Sylvia Bartley, Ms. Miranda Bledsole, Ms. Mariah Bledsole, Ms. Toni Locklear, Ms. Lisa Adwell, Mr. Brandon Lewis all of Rowland and Mr. Michael Jacobs of Maryland; one great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 25, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
