Obituaries

Mrs. Pearlene Locklear                                               Pembroke      Mrs. Pearlene Locklear, 87, of 611 H.L. Locklear Rd, was born July 8, 1923 and departed this life on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at UNC Hospital-Chapel Hill.  She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She will be dearly missed in our lives.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. French and Mrs. Rittie Locklear; her husband:  Mr. Henry L. Locklear and a sister:  Mrs. Esterlene Locklear.      The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2010 at St. Anna Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs:  Tony Miller and Dr. Kenneth Locklear officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Anna Church Cemetery.      Mrs. Locklear leaves to cherish her memories:  a son:  Mr. Bobby H. Locklear and his wife Mrs. Joann of Pembroke; a daughter:  Ms. Diane Locklear of the home; two sisters: Mrs. Irene Deese of Pembroke and Mrs. Eva Whitt of Detroit, MI; a brother: Mr. James Locklear of Pembroke; three grandchildren:  Bobbie Jo Locklear, Brock Joel Locklear and Breck Jon Locklear and a host of relatives and friends.      The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Locklear and Son Funeral Home.
