Mrs. Lucy A. Locklear, 56, of 10881 Hwy 74 West, Maxton, was born December 3, 1953 and died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. She was preceded in death by her father: Mr. Floyd Locklear, two sisters: Ms. Joyce Locklear and Mrs. Deanna Hunt; and a brother: Mr. Jackie Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Baker’s Chapel Baptist Church with the Revs: Lindbergh Chavis, Clyde Freeman, and Michael Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the Brooks Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Locklear is survived by her husband: Mr. William Gary Locklear, a daughter: Ms. Tina Ellen Locklear of the home; a son: Mr. William Floyd Locklear of Maxton; a daughter-in-law: Mrs. April Locklear of Pembroke; three grand-daughters: Haley Locklear, Hannah Locklear and Harabella Locklear all of Pembroke; her mother: Mrs. Margaret Locklear of Maxton; four sisters: Mrs. Betty Oxendine and Mrs. Jeannie Freeman of Maxton, Mrs. Margie Hunt of Fairmont, Mrs. Margaret Britt of Orrum; three brothers: Mr. R.L. Locklear of Maxton, Mr. John R. Locklear and Mr. Stilton Locklear of Fairmont and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2010 at Locklear and Son Funeral Home.
