Mr. Lend D. Locklear, 79, of Cedarwood Apartments, was born September 1, 1927 and departed this life on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel Preston & Peggy Lowery Locklear; his wives: Ira Locklear and Emmaline Locklear; three brothers: Greene Locklear, Sherman Locklear and Kever Locklear; two sisters: Etta Mae Locklear and Dannie Mae Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home with the Revs: Vernel Blue and Jennings R. Bullard officiating. Burial will follow in the Galilee Baptist Church Cemetery.
Surviving are three brothers: Daniel D. Locklear, Ertle Lowery both of Maxton and Wilkie Lowery of Pembroke and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
