Obituaries


 

Mr. Joseph Locklear

                                             Pembroke

     Mr. Joseph Locklear, 77, of 239 East Wardell Drive, was born December 31, 1932 to the late Mr. Asa & Mrs. Susie Dial Locklear and departed this life Thursday, March 4, 2010 at his residence.  He is also preceded in death by three brothers: Mr. James Howard Locklear, Mr. Charles Asa Locklear, and Mr. Bruce Locklear

     The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Mt. Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs: Steve Jacobs, Dell Harris, and Bobby D. Locklear officiating.  Burial will follow in the Preston Cemetery.

     Mr. Locklear is survived by his wife: Mrs. Shirley M. Locklear of the home; one daughter and son-in-law:  Mrs. Sheila Lajean and Mr. Timmie Stultz of Pembroke; three sons:  Dr. Joseph Milton Locklear and wife Mrs. Shirley Locklear of Pembroke, Mr. Steven Douglas Locklear of Pembroke, and Mr. Bryan Clay Locklear of Pembroke; two sisters:  Mrs. Thelma L. Harris of Maxton, and Mrs. Helen Faye Locklear of Pembroke; one brother:  Mr. Bobby Dean Locklear of Maxton; five grandchildren: Mr. Joseph Daniel Locklear of Leavenworth, Kansas, Mr. Christopher Adam Locklear, Ms. Melena Lynn Locklear, Mr. Timothy O’Ryan Stultz  and Mr. Bryan Nicholas Locklear all of Pembroke; four great-grandchildren: Joseph O’Bryan Locklear, Johnathan Garry Locklear, Valerie Nicole Barton all of Leavenworth, Kansas and Joshua Lakota Jackson of Pembroke and a host of relatives and friends.

     The family will receive friends Saturday, March 6, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. at Mt. Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church.
