Mr. James Stanford Locklear, 58, of 4988 Hwy 72 West, was born April 2, 1950 and died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father: Alford Sampson and two sisters: Linda Lewis and Faye Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, at Purnell Swett Senior High School with the Revs: James A. Hunt and Thomas Oxendine officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his loving family: his wife: Ethel Locklear of the home; three daughters: Crystal Lynn Locklear and her husband: Earl of Pembroke, Laken Courtney Locklear of the home and Stanalisa Thrift and her husband: Randy of Hope Mills; two sons: James Phillip Locklear and James Willis Locklear both of the home; his mother: Minnie Lowery of Lumberton; five brothers: Leo Sampson, Ronald Sampson, David Sampson, Michael Sampson and Rev. David Lowery all of Lumberton; five sisters: Margie Lambert of Lumberton, Denise Hunt of Fairmont, Diane Brown of Kenansville, Alice Hunt of Charlotte and Pattie Jones of Lumberton; four grandchildren: Christian, Ashton, Michaela and Blake.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 24, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
