Mr. Hearl Fred “Buddy” Locklear, 73, of 503 Melinda Road, was born March 30, 1938 and died Saturday, December 24, 2011 surrounded by his family, friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Japeth & Mrs. Ethel Lee “Bird” Locklear; a sister: Ms. Estell Locklear; a brother: Mr. Herbert Locklear and a son: Mr. Stuart W. Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 26, 2011, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs: Dr. Kenneth Locklear and Bruce Locklear officiating. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2011, at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Buddy is survived by five sons: Mr. Stevie Locklear and his wife: Mrs. Marie, Mr. Harold Keith Locklear, Mr. Brian Kelly Locklear and his wife: Mrs. Franci, Mr. Berry Dean Locklear and his friend: Ms. Cheryl, Mr. Kurby Wayne Locklear and his friend: Ms. Constance; three daughters: Mrs. Tina Marie Deese and her husband: Mr. William, Mrs. Nina Lynn Anderson and her husband: Mr. Gary; and Ms. Autumn “Michelle” Anderson and her friend: Mr. Dewayne. Buddy is also survived by a very special friend: Ms. Merlene Locklear; Mr. Lynn Carlos Jones, whom he referred to more as a son; Dr. Theresa Bullard whom he also considered to be another daughter; sisters: Mrs. Marcell Locklear, Mrs. Mary Linda Ruggiero and her husband: Mr. Louis; Mrs. Linda Clark and her husband: Mr. Ander; Ms. Martha Lee Collins and Mrs. JoAnn Chavis and her husband: Mr. Henry Clay; a remarkable aunt who cherished him more than a nephew: Mrs. Marthe Locklear; a grandson that was there through all: Mr. Darius J. Locklear, better known to his “Papa” and “Baby”; twenty-four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, December 26, 2011, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home. |
