Obituaries


 

 Mrs. Geneva Sue Locklear

                                       Pembroke

     Mrs. Geneva Sue Locklear, 75, of 151 Hazel Road, entered into eternal rest Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.  She was born June 20, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Dewey & Mrs. Delilah Brewer Sanderson.  She was also preceded in death by her husband: Mr. James Rodney Locklear; a sister: Ms. Mary E. Sanderson and two brothers: Mr. Gilbert Sanderson and Mr. Theodore Sanderson.

     Mrs. Locklear was a retired Home Economics Teacher with 32 years of service, employed by the Public Schools of Robeson County.  Her years of service were at Fairgrove High School and Pembroke Junior High School.  She was loved and treasured by her family and will be greatly missed.

     The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2007, at New Bethel Holiness Methodist Church with the Revs: James H. Woods and Elton B. Hunt officiating.  Burial will follow in the New Bethel Church Cemetery.  Viewing will be one hour prior to services at the church.

     Surviving are two children, a daughter: Mrs. Enid Locklear-Goodman and her husband: SFC Mark Winston Goodman(Texas National Guard) of Conroe, Texas and a son: MAJ(P) Kervo Finn Locklear and his wife: LTC Lisa Rosser of Herndon, Virginia; two grandchildren, who were the joy of her life, Master James Winston Goodman and Master Jack Aaron Locklear; five sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Lewis, Ms. Mary Spaulding, Mrs. Sandra Webb and Mrs. Edith Dial all of Fairmont and Mrs. Brenda J. Hunt of Hampton, Virginia; three brothers: Mr. Kinston Sanderson of Indian Trail, NC, Mr. Jimmy Sanderson and Mr. Renwick Sanderson both of Fairmont, NC; a special sister-in-law: Ms. Sarah C. Lowery; a special cousin: Ms. Cleatis Hunt and several nieces and nephews.

     The family will receive friends Friday, March 30, 2007, from 6-8p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
