Mr. Furman Lee “Bo” Locklear was born the son of the late Mr. Clyde & Mrs. Queen Ester Locklear on July 9, 1943 and departed this life on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at his home at the age of 65. He was also preceded in death by two sisters: Ms. Milla Faye Revels and Ms. Virginia Dale Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Steve Strickland and Michael Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery.
As a young man, he met and married Ms. Winnie Lee Clark on April 28, 1977 and they were blessed with three children: Ms. Carlette Locklear and special friend: Mr. Corey Hammond, Mr. Justin Locklear and Mrs. Michelle Sampson Chavis and her husband: Mr. Brian.
Mr. Locklear is also survived by: two sisters: Mrs. Charity Freeman and her husband: Mr. Robert and Mrs. Doretta Jacobs and her husband: Mr. James Ray; two brothers: Mr. Clyde Locklear and Mr. Larry Locklear and his wife: Mrs. Mary Belle; he was the proud grandfather of two grandchildren: Miss Katelyn Narissa Hammond and Master Bryron Lacy Chavis; he is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
“Bo” was a man with a quite voice and a kind heart. He will truly be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and a friend to all who knew him.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 23, 2009, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
