Mr. Emery Locklear, 92, of 7091 NC Hwy 72 West, was born April 7, 1915 and died Friday, May 4, 2007 at his home. He was the son of the late Mr. Daniel & Mrs. Emma Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 4 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Steve Strickland and Michael Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his devoted wife and best friend of 70 years: Mrs. Addell Locklear; four sons: Herman Locklear and wife: Libbie Sharon, Emery Lynn Locklear and wife: Joyce, Daniel Murphy Locklear and wife: Wanda all of Pembroke and Earl David Locklear of Lumberton; six daughters: Ruth L. Locklear and husband: Rod of Columbia, MD, Betty Nye of Charlotte, Clementine Duckworth of Cordova, TN, Alafair Parent and husband: Marc of La Mesa, CA, Ethel Gail Locklear and husband: Bobby, Irma L. Deese and her husband: Mitchell of Pembroke; a sister: Virginia Locklear of Lumberton; 34 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 6, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
