PEMBROKE
Mrs. Cathern Ann Locklear, 90, of 564 Gene’s Road, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at Woodhaven Nursing Care Center in Lumberton.
Mrs. Locklear was born in Robeson County on August 11, 1917; a daughter of the late Mr. Shelby & Mrs. Harriett Cummings Locklear. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Lonnie J. Locklear; two brothers: Mr. Willie Blanch Locklear and Mr. John Astor Locklear; three sisters: Mrs. Gladys L. Jacobs, Mrs. Thesia Lowery and Mrs. Veatter Cummings and a special niece: Mrs. Mary Ethel Bryant.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2007, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Steve Strickland and Michael Cummings officiating. The body will be at the church one hour prior to services for viewing. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Locklear is survived by a son: Mr. Gene Locklear and his wife: Mrs. Susan of El Cajon, California; three sisters: Mrs. Lucy Griffith, Mrs. Elier M. Revels and Mrs. Mary Sue Chavis all of Pembroke; a special nephew: Mr. Harry Locklear of Pembroke and a special niece: Mrs. Patricia G. Hagans of Lumberton and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday, October 29, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
