Mrs. Bessie Mae “Tincy” Locklear, 87, of 253 Ardell Road, was born July 16, 1919 and died Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Scotland Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband: Ardell Locklear; a son: Jerome Locklear; two brothers: Archie Locklear and Floyd Locklear and a sister: Lois Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2007, at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church with the Revs: Jimmy Strickland, Martin Jacobs and Edward Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the White Hill Church Cemetery.
Surviving are three sons: Odell Locklear, Landros Locklear and Larson Locklear; five daughters: Evelyn Brooks, Sara F. Locklear, Doris J. Locklear, Pearl Locklear and Ruby D. Brooks; a brother: Laymon Locklear; three sisters: Polly Brayboy, Leola Locklear and Josephine Thompson; thirty-six grandchildren and fifty-three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 25, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
