Lumberton
Mr. Woodrow Jones, 88, of 1500 Starlite Drive, Lumberton, departed this life on Monday, March 31, 2008 at his home. He was born January 2, 1920 and was the son of the late Mr. Jack & Mrs. Jenny Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife: Mrs. Stella Mae Jones; two sons: Mr. Monroe Jones and Mr. Danny Ray Jones; three brothers: Mr. Danny Jones, Mr. Whit Jones and Mr. Neil A. Jones; three sisters: Mrs. Dorothy Mae Barton, Mrs. Eunice “Lee-Bird” Fields and Mrs. Jenny Jacobs.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Mt. Haven Alliance Church with the Revs: Jimmy Oxendine, Dwight Deal & Terry Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Bullard Family Cemetery.
Surviving are six daughters: Ms. Audrey Jones, Ms. Mable Jones both of the home, Mrs. Marline Jones Scott, Mrs. Mello J. Hunt, Ms. Bobbie Ann Jones all of Lumberton and Mrs. Geneva Locklear of Rowland; four sons: Mr. Jimmy “Earl” Junior Jones of the home, Mr. Wesley “Buddy” Jones, Mr. Ervin Jones, Mr. Lawton Jones all of Lumberton; a brother: Mr. Willie “Bud” Jones of Lumberton; a sister: Ms. Cleo J. Locklear of Lumberton; twenty-one grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
