Obituaries

Mrs. Mary Lou Jones                                                 Shannon    Mrs. Mary Lou Jones, 70, of 360 McQueen Rd., Shannon, was born August 4, 1939 and departed this life Saturday, May 1, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.  She is preceded in death by her husband: Mr. James Albert “Clyde” Jones and her parents: Mr. James “Dump” & Mrs. Louise Locklear.    The funeral will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Praise and Worship Ministries with the Revs:  Ricky Deese, Freddy Gibbs and Curtis Oxendine officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens.    Mrs. Jones is survived by four sons:  Mr. Eugene Jones of Red Springs, Mr. Frankie Jones of Rennert, Mr. Ellehue Jones of Shannon and Danniehue Jones of Lumberton; a daughter:  Ms. Amy Jones of Shannon; three brothers:  Mr. Roosevelt Locklear of Red Springs, Mr. Beauford Locklear and Mr. Horace Locklear both of Lumberton; six sisters:  Mrs. Gearldine Locklear of Rowland, Mrs. Shirley Locklear, Mrs. Dora F. Harrigon, Mrs. Lucy Locklear, Mrs. Paulette Locklear all of Lumberton  and Mrs. Judy Locklear of Red Springs; seventeen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.    The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Locklear and Son Funeral Home.
