Mr. Laddie Jones, 80, of 66 Ardell Rd., Maxton, was born April 13, 1927 and departed this life on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Scotland Memorial Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Willie and Mrs. Liesa Jones; his wife: Mrs. Christine “Mama” Jones; a son: Mr. Roy Locklear; and a daughter: Ms. Mickey Jones; and one grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church with the Revs: Scott Nobles, Danny Brooks, and Bobby Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at St. Annah Church Cemetery.
Mr. Jones is survived by nine sons: Mr. Hubert Jones, Mr. Joseph T. Jones, Mr. Clonnie Jones, Mr. Harold D. Jones, Mr. Shelton Jones, Mr. Larry Jones all of Maxton, Mr. Humphrey Jones, Mr. Alonso Jones both of Rowland, and Mr. Ted Lowery of Lumberton; five daughters: Mrs. Lottie Locklear, Mrs. Mary Smiling, Mrs. Carol Locklear, Mrs. Christina Walters all of Maxton, and Mrs. Jewel Clark of Pembroke; one brother: Mr. Hover Jones of Lumber Bridge; two sisters: Mrs. Meta J. Hughes of Rowland, and Mrs. Eva Whit of Detroit MI; one very special friend, and a special thanks to his caretakers Mr. Donnie Hunt and Mrs. Brenda Ann Locklear; twenty-three grandchildren and forty two great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
