Pembroke
Ms. Ethel Johnson, 88, of 147 Olie Drive, was born August 16, 1918 and departed this life on Friday, April 6, 2007 at her home. She was preceded in death by a son: Simeon Godwin, Jr. She spent a lifetime sacrificing for her family and friends without complaint.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Sandy Plains United Methodist Church with the Revs: Mattheue Locklear, Dr. Robert Mangum and Bro. Dell Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandy Plains Church Cemetery. Viewing will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Surviving are three sons: Robert Johnson of Highland Springs, VA, Bobby Johnson of Sandston, VA and Arnold Johnson of Pembroke; three daughters: Shirley Godwin, Martha McGirt both of Pembroke and Betty Nelson of Raleigh; one sister: Thedis Wilkins of Pembroke; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 7, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
