PEMBROKE
Mr. Johnson Jacobs, 56, of 202 Redmond Rd. Pembroke, was born May 9, 1950 and departed his earthly home on Wednesday, February 21, 2007. He is preceded in death by his parents: Mr. James and Mrs. Annie Jacobs; three brothers and one sister.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Elrod Baptist Church with the Revs: Gary Chavis and Chester Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the Harpers Ferry Church Cemetery
Mr. Jacobs served in the Marines from 1967-1969. During that time he served one tour in Vietnam, where he was wounded and received a purple heart. He was dedicated to his country and was proud to be a Marine.
Mr. Jacobs is survived by his wife: Mrs. Diane Jacobs of the home; a daughter: Ms. Kimberly D. Jacobs; a son: Mr. John J. Jacobs both of Pembroke; five sisters: Mrs. Clara M. Brooks of Maxton; Mrs. Flora J. Lowry, Mrs. Betty J. Jacobs, Mrs. Diane Chavis, and Mrs. Oneida Cummings all of Pembroke; two brothers: Mr. James A. Jacobs, and Mr. William Jacobs of Pembroke; a mother-in-law: Mrs. Lucy D. Chavis; two brothers-in-law: Mr. Henry C. Chavis of Prospect, and Robert E. Chavis of Pembroke; two sisters-in-law Mrs. Ilene Dial, and Mrs. Virginia G. Strickland of Pembroke; a very special niece: Mrs. Alfredia N. Brooks; and a special nephew: Mr. Charles Lowry; three grandchildren: Ana, Idaliah, and Ida Crochell Jacobs all of Pembroke and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 24, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
