Mr. J.C. Jacobs, 71, of 61 Sharon Lane, Pembroke, was born April 28, 1936 and departed this life on Friday, April 26, 2008. He is preceded in death by his parents: Mr. Carlie Jacobs and Mrs. Hannah Jacobs; grandparents: Mr. Amos and Mrs. Carrie Lowery and Mr. Maureen and Mrs. Polly B. Jacobs; and a sister Mrs. Helen Arena.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Bear Swamp Baptist Church with the Revs: Jimmy Strickland, Marshall Strickland, and James H. Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Bear Swamp Church Cemetery.
As a devoted partner in his 50 year marriage to Mrs. Alice F. Jacobs, the couple shared their love for each other and for their family. Mr. J.C. Jacobs was the foundation of our family. He was a dedicated father and grand-father that lead by example.
He is also survived by two sons: Mr. Kenneth L. Jacobs, MD of Raleigh, NC and Mr. Michael L. Jacobs and wife Lynette of King, NC; two sisters: Mrs. Margaret Jernigan of Pembroke and Mrs. Sally Hunt of Rowland; two grandchildren: Miss Ashley Jacobs and Master Preston Michael Jacobs and a host of relatives and friends.
The Family will recieve friends Wednesday, April 30, 2008, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
