Mr. Robert Anthony Hunt was born December 2, 1957 in Robeson County, he was the son of the late Mr. Wilbert Hunt, Sr. and Mrs. Ida Mae Cummings Hunt of Lumberton. He departed this life on March 19, 2010 at the age of 52 at Scotland Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hunt was a humble soul who enjoyed cooking and his horticulture hobbies. He was a loving devoted father and grandfather. Mr. Anthony for the past 10 years was a reliable and dependable employee at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he leaves behind an abundance of cherished friends. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Mr. James Garfield Hunt.
The memorial will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 at Elrod Baptist Church with the Revs: Gary Strickland and Jason Chandler officiating.
Mr. Hunt leaves to cherish his memories; his wife: Mrs. Diane McGirt Hunt; two daughters: Ms. Shelley Cassandra Hunt of Rowland and Ms. Brandy Nacole McGirt and her husband: Mr. Scottie Mitchell of Lumberton; two grandsons: Tyler Scott and Tristan Blake Mitchell of Lumberton; two sisters: Ms. Mary Bonds of Jacksonville, FL and Ms. Betty Bumgardner of Gastonia, NC; three brothers: Mr. Leo Hunt, Mr. Leon Hunt, Sr. and Mr. Wilbert Hunt, Jr. all of Lumberton and a host of relatives and friends. A special thanks to Mr. Samuel Cummings, Mr. Doug Hammonds and the entire staff at UNCP, you will hold a place in our hearts forever.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Locklear and Son Funeral Home.
