PEMBROKE
Mr. Edgar Hunt, 65, of 7672 Hwy 72 West, was born July 12, 1941 and died Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at Duke University Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents: Roy & Viola Hunt.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Revs: Steve Strickland and Hilton Woodell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Airy Church Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife: Clara Mable Hunt of the home; a son: Edgar Doyle Hunt and his wife: Melanie N. Hunt; two daughters: Tonya Arpie Scott and her husband: Dowery Scott, Jr. and Darbie Dee Strickland and her husband: Reggle Strickland, Jr.; a step-son: Dwayne Locklear and a step-daughter: Nina Jacobs all of Pembroke; five brothers: Roy Hunt, Jr. of Maxton, Henry Luther Hunt, Alton Hunt, Harold Hunt and Timmie Hunt all of Pembroke; two sisters: Eunice Locklear and Mable Cummings both of Pembroke and eight grandchildren: Phillip, Breanna, Kayonna, Cetera, McKinley, Kayla, Taylor and Lauren.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 26, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
