Mrs. Rosa G. Graham |

Pembroke Mrs. Rosa G. Graham, 89, of 35 Guy Road, Pembroke, North Carolina, was born October 19, 1920 to Mrs. Eliza Deese. She departed this life on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Daniel H. Graham; her son, Guy W. Graham; five grandchildren, John, David, Kimberly, Michelle, and Walter Graham; four sisters, Alberta Deese, Roberta Hammonds, Odessa Deese, and Delphia Locklear; and three brothers, James W. Deese, Bert Deese, and Neil D. Deese. The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010, at Mt. Olive Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs: Stevie Jacobs, Kenneth Locklear and Everette Woods officiating. Burial will follow in the Lumbee Memorial Gardens. She is survived by three daughters, Doris Locklear and husband Alex Jr. of Pembroke, Hazel Oxendine and husband O.J. of Red Springs, and Healy Chavis and husband Gene of Knightdale, NC; three sons, Thomas and wife Mary of Warren, MI, Council Graham of Culleoka, TN, and James Graham of Pembroke; one sister, Lee Bertha Deese of Maxton; one brother, Earl Deese and wife Mary of Pembroke; twenty-one grandchildren, forty-two great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. Rosa accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at the church of her youth, White Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Pembroke at twenty years old. She later married the son of Rev. Frank Wesley and Minnie Oxendine Graham on December 27, 1941. She was a loving wife of 39 years, a mother, grandmother, neighbor, friend, and caregiver to many, especially to her father and mother-in-law. She was a faithful servant to God, her family, and for the last thirty years, a dutiful member of her church, Mt. Olive Pentecostal Holiness in Pembroke. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home. | |
