Ms. Shirley Godwin                                       Pembroke      Ms. Shirley Godwin, 73, of 209 Ruth Dial Street, was born May 24, 1937 and died, Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.  She was preceded in death by her son: Mr. Carl Wayne Godwin; her mother: Ms. Ethel Johnson; her brother: Mr. Simeon Godwin, Jr. and her father: Mr. Simeon Godwin.      The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Sandy Plains United Methodist Church with the Revs: Mattheue Locklear and Dufrene Cummings officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sandy Plains Church Cemetery.      Surviving are her daughter: Mrs. Sandra Johnson Bullard and her husband: Mr. James of Pembroke; two sisters: Ms. Martha McGirt of Pembroke and Ms. Betty Nelson of Raleigh; three brothers: Mr. Robert Glenn Johnson of Highland Springs, VA, Mr. Bobby Johnson of Sandston, VA and Arnold Johnson of Pembroke; a granddaughter: Ms. Jessica Johnson Bullard; a god-child: Ms. Beatrice “Liz” Locklear of Pembroke and a host of relatives and friends.      The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 15, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
