Mr. Gerald Clairemont Didier, 79, of 1081 Old Baker Road, Maxton was born July 4, 1929 and died, Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Southeastern Hospice House. He was born in Mission, South Dakota and was a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota. He was also a veteran of the US Army having served with the 82nd Airborne Division.
The funeral will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Rev. William Brayboy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Didier is survived by: Mr. Orlando Didier and wife: Mrs. Brenda, Miss Brenda Lee and Mr. David Carpenter of the home; Mr. Reggie and Mr. David Didier of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ms. Crystal Gomez and husband and two children of Humble, Texas, Mr. Curtis Carpenter and wife of Laurinburg, Mrs. Jere Pressley and husband: Mr. Bill and Mr. Billy of Charlotte, Mrs. Janie Perry and husband: Mr. Greg, three children and two grandchildren of Houston, Texas, Mr. Reggie Didier and one child of Grey Court, SC, Ms. Amanda Didier of Mobile, Alabama, Mrs. Andrea Tuvall and husband: Mr. Darren and three children of Fayetteville and Ms. Angela Didier and three children of Fayetteville and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services and the church.
