Mrs. Betty O. Dial, 74, of 36 Cruz Rd., was born April 11, 1935 and died Friday, December 4, 2009, at Southeastern Hospice House in Lumberton. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Dannie Oxendine & Ms. Elizabeth Locklear; her husband: Mr. Nathaniel B. Dial; two sons: Ms. Dannie Ellen Dial and Mr. Dennis Ernest Dial; three brothers: Mr. Daniel Bill Locklear, Mr. Julius “Buck” Oxendine and Mr. Hervey Oxendine.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2009, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Velma Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Anna Church Cemetery.
Surviving are two sons: Mr. Eddie Dial of the home and Mr. Delton Dial of Chadbourn; two daughters: Mrs. Rose Locklear of Maxton and Mrs. Susan McGirt of Pembroke; three sisters: Ms. Selena Locklear, Ms. Alaine Jacobs and Ms. Flora Margaret Dial all of Pembroke; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
