Mr. Wilbert Demery, 79, of 2988 Union Chapel Road, Pembroke, was born July 24, 1930 to the late Mr. Willie Demery and Mrs. Martha Demery, and departed this life Monday, March 22, 2010 at Golden Living Center of Lumberton. He is preceded in death by his wife: Mrs. Lois Demery; his son: Mr. Wilbert Demery, Jr.; his daughter: Ms. Sarah Demery; a grandson: Mr. Marcus Darrell Demery; a brother: Mr. Willie Demery; and four sisters: Ms. Josephine Demery, Mrs. Annie Ruth Clark, Mrs. Fannie Bell Jacobs and Mrs. Jessie Lee Jones.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Locklear and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs: Jimmy Oxendine, Thomas Oxendine and Willie Jacobs, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Anna Church Cemetery.
Mr. Demery leaves to cherish his memories his daughter: Mrs. Sarah Lena O’Briant of Pembroke; a sister: Mrs. Mertice Oxendine of Lumberton; two brothers: Mr. Earl Demery and Mr. Willard Demery both of Pembroke; two granddaughters: Sabrina Clark, and Fedria Locklear both of Maxton; three great-grandsons: Hampton Locklear, Blake Greene, and Triston Locklear and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday March, 24, 2010 at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
