PEMBROKE
Mrs. Josephine Cummings, 83, of Cummings Heights Pembroke, was born March 23, 1923 and departed this life Thursday, February 22, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Stanley Cummings; a grandson: Mr. C. G. Cummings and a sister: Mrs. Retha Scott.
The funeral will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2007, at Sandy Plains United Methodist Church with the Revs: Mattheue Locklear, Bill James Locklear and Robert Mangum officiating. Burial will follow in the Sandy Plains Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Cummings is survived by one son: Mr. Charles Gregory Cummings of Pembroke; one daughter: Mrs. Cecilia Ann McLemore of Charlotte, NC; three step-daughters: Mrs. Ruth Ellen Johnson of Dallas TX, Mrs. Lola DeBlasio of Long Island, NY, Mrs. Elaine Faye Byrd of Tyler TX; one step-son: Mr. Jerry D. Cummings; one sister Mrs. Nancy Rogers; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 24, 2007, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
