Obituaries


 

Mr. Henry E. Conley

                                       Pembroke
   Mr. Henry Edward Conley, 72, of 300 Ottmus Road, was born July 26, 1937 and departed this life on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
  
He was born in Robson, West Virginia and was the son of the late Rev. John H. Conley and Mrs. Dorothy Lewis Conley.  He served faithfully in the US Navy for 4 years.  He was a wonderful husband and friend to his late wife: Mrs. Hazel Cummings Conley.  He was a contracted painter for several years and also a body shop repairman for 40 years.  Mr. Conley was a honest and caring friend to his family and community.  He loved going to church and listening to gospel music and talking of his dreams of building a plane.
  
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Mt. Zion Pentecostal Fire-Baptized Holiness Church with the Revs: Andrew Smith, Daniel Evans and Norman Morris officiating.  Burial will follow in the Oxendine Cemetery.
  
Surviving are three sons: Mr. Hearl Edward Conley and wife: Mrs. Cathy of St. Pauls, Mr. James Edward Conley of the home and Mr. Johnny Morris Conley and wife: Mrs. Gail of Pembroke; his mother: Mrs. Dorothy Lewis Conley of Indiana; three brothers: Mr. Wesley Conley, Mr. James Conley and Mr. John Conley of Indiana; five sisters: Ms. Jean Mills, Ms. Jeanette Conley, Ms. Dorothy Stronczek, Ms. Memory Connor all of Indiana and Lucy Romine of Red Springs; thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
  
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 14, 2010, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home.
