Ms. Betty Colville, born November 18, 1926 made her peaceful transition on December 5, 2010. Betty was a very active volunteer and influential member of her community. She filled her life with her 3 great passions- gardening, education, and children. She was a Master Gardener, taught English as a second language through the Literacy Council and was actively involved with Church and Community. For the past 18 years she took on the role as a Guardian ad Litem and found this the most fulfilling.
Ms. Betty is survived by her daughters Caraleigh Hensley of Wilmington, NC and Jada Stewart of Athens, GA. Sisters Mary Mangum of Clinton, SC and Lynn Soylemez of Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren Cole and Daisy Stewart; Son-in-law John Hensley and Daughter-in-law Brenda Colville. She has gone on to meet her sons Rod and Scott and husband Bill.
Visitation is Thursday, Dec 9th 5pm-7pm at her home in Rowland. A private family memorial will follow. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. |
