Mr. Terry Chavis, 43, of 6892 NC Hwy 71 N, Maxton, NC was born on July 7, 1966 and departed this life on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at UNC Chapel Hill. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Chavis, Sr. and his maternal grandfather: Mr. Alford Locklear.
The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010 at New Prospect Holiness Methodist Church with the Revs: Chris Webb, Kent Chavis, Willie Scott, Henry Oxendine, and Terry Lee officiating. Entombment will follow in the St. Anna Church Cemetery.
Mr. Chavis leaves to cherish his memories to his precious and loving daughter: Ms. Leslie N. Chavis; his father: Mr. Joe (Big) Chavis, Jr. and his friend Ms. Donnie B. Hunt and his mother: Mrs. Janie Cox and husband Mr. James H. Cox; his brother: Mr. Tommy Chavis; two nieces: Ms. Lesanna Chavis and Ms. Kyra Chavis; a maternal grandmother: Ms. Mary Locklear; a friend Ms. Rose Barton and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, March, 27, 2010 at Locklear and Son Funeral Home.
