Mrs. Naomi Dial Chavis, 77, of 450 O’Quinn Road, was born August 12, 1934 and departed this life on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at The Laurels of Forest Glenn in Garner, NC, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband: Mr. Alvin B. Chavis and her parents: Mr. Onnie & Mrs. Mary Jane Clark Dial.
The funeral will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2011, at Prospect United Methodist Church with the Revs: Bill James Locklear, Robert Magnum and Dr. Kenneth Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Chavis is survived by a daughter: Mrs. Shannon Chavis Lowry and her husband: Mr. Davey Corey; a grandson: Corey Benjamin Lowry; a granddaughter: Mya Nicole Lowry all of Garner; two sisters: Mrs. Jacksie Locklear and Mrs. Ruth Locklear both of Maxton and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Locklear & Son Funeral Home. |
