Mrs. Eunice D. Chavis, 74, of 730 Recreation Center Rd., Pembroke, NC, departed this life November 25, 2007 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents: Mr. Archie and Mrs. Nannie D. Deese; two brothers: Mr. Redell Deese, and Mr. Billy Rome Deese; a sister Mrs. Joyce Deese; and a grandson: Mr. Mark Brayboy.
The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church located off of Hwy 74 in Maxton, NC. The Revs: Mike Cummings, Chris Locklear, and Kelvin Locklear officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the White Hill Freewill Church cemetery.
Mrs. Chavis leaves to cherish a son: Mr. Hank Chavis and wife Robin of Lumberton; three daughters: Mrs. Joan Chavis and husband Furman of Laurel Hill, NC, Mrs. Annette Herndon and husband Prentiss of Maxton, and Mrs. Nannie R. Chavis and husband William of Pembroke; a sister: Mrs. Estelle D. Hunt; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and three special friends: Mrs. Jessie L. Dial, Ms. Willie Cook, and Mr. Carvie Berry and a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 27, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home in Pembroke.
